How To Have Bath During Pregnancy?

Pregnancy BathIf you sweat more during pregnancy and/ or have slight vaginal discharge, then you should bathe more frequently. Increased sweating and vaginal discharge during pregnancy is normally due to the hormonal changes in the body. Frequent bathing can also reduce the risk of vaginal infections. There are however some precautions you need to take while bathing, which are as follows:

Do not douche during pregnancy unless your doctor specifically recommends it.

If your bathroom has smooth tiles or you use a tub, it is desirable that you use a rubber mat to prevent slipping on the wet surface.

The temperature of the water should be warm. (No warmer than 100°F)

Avoid hot water baths, especially during the first and third trimesters as it may make you feel dizzy.

If you use a bucket for bathing, do not bend down to pick up water from the bucket. Sit on a stool and then take a bath.

Avoid tub baths or sitting on the floor for taking a bath in the last months of pregnancy, as getting up may be difficult.
